Gold prices in Pakistan fall by Rs3,700 on August 1

Domestic bullion market declines as international gold prices retreat by $37 per ounce.

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan recorded a sharp decline on Saturday, August 1, 2026, with the price of 24-karat gold falling by Rs3,700 per tola, tracking losses in the international bullion market.

According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJA), the price of 24-karat gold dropped to Rs426,736 per tola, compared with Rs430,436 in the previous trading session.

The price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams also decreased significantly, falling by Rs3,202 to Rs365,857, down from Rs369,029 a day earlier.

The decline in domestic gold prices followed a downturn in global bullion markets, where spot gold fell by $37 per ounce to $4,043, compared with $4,080 in the previous session.

Gold prices in Pakistan generally move in line with international bullion rates while also reflecting fluctuations in the rupee-dollar exchange rate and local market conditions. The latest correction comes after several sessions of volatility, during which prices swung sharply in response to changing global economic and geopolitical developments.

Market analysts said easing demand for safe-haven assets and profit-taking in international markets contributed to the decline in bullion prices. Investors continue to closely monitor global economic data, monetary policy expectations, and geopolitical developments, all of which remain key drivers of gold prices.

Despite the latest decline, gold remains one of the preferred investment options for many Pakistani investors seeking protection against inflation, currency depreciation, and financial market uncertainty.

Jewellers expect trading activity to remain moderate in the coming days, with buyers closely watching international price movements before making fresh purchases. Any significant change in global bullion prices or exchange rate trends is likely to influence domestic gold prices further.

The APGJA revises gold rates daily based on international market trends and local trading conditions, making its prices the benchmark for Pakistan’s bullion market.
