24-karat gold rises to Rs471,936 per tola as international bullion price climbs to $4,495 per ounce

Gold prices in Pakistan witnessed a sharp increase on August 20, 2026, with the price of 24-karat gold rising by Rs13,700 per tola on Thursday.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold increased to Rs471,936 per tola, compared with the previous day’s closing price of Rs458,236.

The latest increase represents a significant jump in local gold prices, pushing the per-tola rate above the Rs470,000 mark.

The price of 24-karat gold also increased by Rs11,746 per 10 grams. The rate climbed to Rs404,609 per 10 grams from Rs392,863 recorded a day earlier.

The sharp rise in domestic gold prices came alongside a substantial increase in international bullion rates.

International gold prices increased by $137 per ounce, rising to $4,495 from the previous day’s closing price of $4,358 per ounce.

The movement in global gold prices continues to have a direct impact on the domestic bullion market, with local rates reflecting changes in international prices.

The latest increase marks a notable movement in Pakistan’s gold market, with both the per-tola and 10-gram rates recording substantial gains during Thursday’s trading.

Gold remains a closely watched commodity in Pakistan, particularly among investors, jewelers and consumers who track daily changes in bullion prices.
