Gold prices soar in Pakistan following global market surge

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan surged to Rs237,800 per tola as the international market experienced a sharp rise in prices.

In the domestic markets, the price of 24-karat gold per tola increased by Rs600, reaching Rs237,800. Similarly, the price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams rose by Rs514 to Rs203,875. The price of 22-karat gold per 10 grams stood at Rs186,886.

Internationally, gold prices witnessed a significant increase, rising by $23 to reach $1,982 per ounce.

On the other hand, the price of 24-karat silver remained unchanged at Rs2,900 per tola in the local markets. Similarly, the price of 24-karat silver per 10 grams also recorded no change, remaining at Rs2,486.28.

In the international markets, the price of silver was recorded at $23.48 per ounce.

The surge in gold prices in Pakistan is attributed to the substantial rise witnessed in the global market. Investors and individuals holding gold have benefited from this upward trend. The local market responded accordingly, reflecting the international price movement and resulting in an increase in gold rates domestically.
