Gold prices surge Rs4,200 as rally enters eighth day

Pakistan’s gold market extends its longest recent winning streak, with 24-karat gold reaching Rs463,936 per tola amid a sharp international bullion rally.

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan surged by Rs4,200 per tola on Wednesday, extending their winning streak to an eighth consecutive session as strong gains in international bullion markets continued to lift domestic prices.

According to market data, the price of 24-karat gold rose to Rs463,936 per tola, compared with the previous day’s closing price of Rs459,736.

The latest increase takes the cumulative gain in gold prices to Rs36,000 over the past eight sessions. On August 4, 2026, 24-karat gold was priced at Rs427,936 per tola.

The price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams also climbed sharply, increasing by Rs3,601 to Rs397,750, from Rs394,149 in the previous session.

International gold rally fuels Pakistan market

The sharp rise in domestic bullion prices came amid another strong rally in international gold markets.

International gold prices jumped $42 per ounce to $4,415, compared with the previous close of $4,373.

Bullion market experts attributed the latest increase to stronger demand for gold in international markets following an easing in tensions in the Middle East.

The renewed appetite for the precious metal has provided further momentum to Pakistan’s local market, where international bullion prices and exchange-rate movements remain key factors influencing domestic gold rates.

Gold gains Rs36,000 in eight sessions

The uninterrupted rally has pushed gold prices to exceptionally high levels in Pakistan, with the precious metal gaining Rs36,000 since August 4.

The latest increase means gold has gained more than 8% in just eight trading sessions, highlighting the intensity of the recent rally.

Market participants are closely monitoring developments in global geopolitical conditions and international bullion prices, as any fresh changes in safe-haven demand could continue to influence gold prices in Pakistan.

For local investors and consumers, the sharp increase has once again underscored gold’s traditional role as a safe-haven asset during periods of heightened global uncertainty.
