Google has announced the expansion of Quick Share’s AirDrop interoperability to more Android smartphones, allowing users to share files directly between Android devices and iPhones more easily.
The announcement was made during The Android Show: I/O Edition, where Google confirmed that support will soon arrive on smartphones from OnePlus, Oppo, and Honor.
The feature is part of Google’s broader effort to improve cross-platform file sharing between Android and Apple devices.
Quick Share Feature Continues Expanding
Google initially introduced Quick Share-AirDrop interoperability with the launch of the Google Pixel 10 series last year. The company later expanded support to older Pixel smartphones and Samsung’s Galaxy S26 lineup.
More recently, compatibility also arrived on devices such as the Oppo Find X9 Ultra and vivo X300 Ultra.
At present, the feature is already available on the Google Pixel 8a and the Oppo Find N6.
The technology enables Android users to share files seamlessly with iPhones, similar to how Apple’s AirDrop works within its own ecosystem.
Samsung Devices to Receive Support Soon
Google confirmed that several Samsung devices will soon gain access to the Quick Share-AirDrop feature. These include the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S24 lineup, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Fold6, and the rumored Galaxy Z TriFold.
The expansion highlights the growing collaboration between Google and Samsung Electronics in delivering advanced Android features across flagship devices.
OnePlus, Oppo, and Honor Devices Included
In addition to Samsung devices, Google announced upcoming support for the Oppo Find X8 series, OnePlus 15, Honor Magic V6, and Honor Magic8 Pro.
However, Google has not yet provided an official timeline for when the feature will begin rolling out to all supported smartphones.
Google Focuses on Better Cross-Platform Sharing
The expansion of Quick Share interoperability reflects Google’s efforts to improve communication and file-sharing experiences between Android and iOS ecosystems.
As smartphone manufacturers continue focusing on ecosystem integration, features like Quick Share-AirDrop compatibility could make switching and sharing between platforms easier for millions of users worldwide.
