Gwyneth Paltrow Opens Up About Heartbreak With Brad

Gwyneth Paltrow has recently opened up about her high-profile romance with Brad Pitt, reflecting on their past relationship and its lasting impact.

In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Gwyneth Paltrow, the Iron Man star, recalled her engagement to Brad Pitt in December 1996, which ended just six months later. She described the Hollywood icon as “a very intriguing character,” emphasizing the lasting impression he left on her life.

Interestingly, Gwyneth Paltrow likened her romance with Brad Pitt to being involved with royalty, drawing a parallel to Prince William. “It’s like having dated, I don’t know, Prince William or something,” the 52-year-old actress remarked, acknowledging the enduring public interest in their past relationship.

The Goop founder further reflected on the ongoing discussions surrounding her time with Brad Pitt, stating, “That’s always going to come up,” indicating how their romance remains a topic of fascination even decades later.

During the interview, Gwyneth Paltrow reminisced about a particular moment when Brad Pitt visited her on her birthday while she was filming a movie in the English countryside. At the time, she was working long hours—20-hour days, six days a week. She revealed how a producer’s reaction to her presence with Brad Pitt made her feel uncomfortable. “The producer made me feel like I was the most entitled… It was such a horrible feeling,” she admitted.

Gwyneth Paltrow further detailed how the producer might have manipulated the situation against her, saying, “He might craft a story that I’m being difficult, and of course, you didn’t say anything because you could already tell that the guy with the power was like, ‘I don’t like what I’m seeing here.’”

Previously, Gwyneth Paltrow had discussed her relationship with Brad Pitt on the Call Her Daddy podcast in May 2023. She revealed, “I was totally heartbroken when we broke up,” explaining how she ultimately decided to call off their engagement.

“It was the right thing at that time, but it was really hard,” she reflected, adding that their nine-year age difference played a role in the breakup. “He knew what he wanted, he was ready to do it, and I was kind of all over the place.”
