Hashoo Foundation’s Innovative Knowledge Strategy for Economic Recovery

Hashoo Foundation, in collaboration with the Government, organized a groundbreaking Round Table Dialogue aimed at addressing the challenges faced by Pakistan and devising an effective strategy for economic recovery.

The event, held in Islamabad, showcased Pakistan’s resilience and determination to seek insights from international experts. Hashoo Foundation, a nonpartisan non-profit organization, is committed to leveraging knowledge as a valuable asset to drive socio-economic uplift.

Distinguished individuals, including ambassadors, business leaders, and academicians, were invited to the Round Table Dialogue to contribute their expertise and propose solutions for trade and economic recovery in the current context.

The event fostered constructive discussions, leading to a wide range of practical opportunities for economic growth. Key areas of focus included economic policies during times of uncertainty, enhancing small industries and value addition in Pakistan, technology transfer for economic progress, and sustainable fiscal strategies for development. Experts also explored how trade can play a role in facilitating economic recovery and promoting social development.

Although recessions and uncertainties often result in uneven economic growth, economic activities persist and adapt to the circumstances. However, the risk lies in the concentration of economic activities within small groups.

Recognizing the need for collective efforts, knowledge leaders and global partners from various sectors collaborate to ensure nonpartisan actors working towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in both public and private sectors continue serving consumers and citizens during such challenging times.

Ayesha Khan, Country Director of Hashoo Foundation, extended a warm welcome to the participants and highlighted the organization’s seven-year commitment to utilizing knowledge and intellectual capital to generate actionable solutions for the betterment of individuals and communities.

With the motto “Together we make a difference,” the collective wisdom gathered during the session will contribute to innovative and sustainable approaches for economic growth. Khan stressed the importance of strengthening institutions and development strategies to address the post-pandemic and climate change emergencies, emphasizing the significance of innovation and entrepreneurship.

As a guest speaker, Prof. Dr. M. Zia Ul Haq, Director General of International Islamic University, expressed gratitude to Hashoo Foundation for raising this critical issue and working towards finding solutions. He emphasized the pivotal role of academia and researchers in collaboration with stakeholders to formulate a reform-based strategy for sustained economic growth acceleration in Pakistan.

The initiative received appreciation from stakeholders worldwide, as well as the public and private sectors, who actively participated in supporting home-led solutions for socio-economic development.
