Pakistan’s premier T20 league will return from March 18 to May 2, 2027, with all eight franchises set to compete for the championship.
Pakistan’s biggest domestic T20 cricket spectacle is set for another highly anticipated season, with the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) confirming the dates for its 12th edition. HBL PSL 12 will take place from March 18 to May 2, 2027, with all eight franchises returning to compete for the coveted championship.
The tournament window was finalized after consultations with key stakeholders during a PSL Governing Council meeting held in London on September 1, 2026. Representatives and owners of all eight franchises participated in discussions before the dates were confirmed.
The upcoming edition will follow a historic HBL PSL 11 campaign, which introduced several major changes to the competition. Eight teams participated for the first time, while the traditional player draft was replaced by a player auction.
The 2026 final at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium also produced a record attendance of 32,461 spectators. Peshawar Zalmi eventually lifted the trophy after defeating debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets on May 3, ending their nine-year wait for another PSL title.
With the HBL PSL 12 dates now finalized, attention will shift toward the major squad-building stages. Direct signings, player retentions, the trade window and the player auction are expected to generate considerable interest among fans and franchises.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said the previous season demonstrated the league’s growing appeal through memorable matches, strong broadcast numbers and impressive crowds. He indicated that the 2027 edition would aim to build further on that progress.
HBL PSL CEO Salman Naseer also highlighted the expectations created by last season, saying the upcoming campaign would seek to match and exceed those standards. He described the confirmation of the dates as the beginning of a new phase leading toward the squad-building process.
Further information regarding match schedules, venues, player auction arrangements and ticket sales will be announced later. With eight franchises preparing once again, the countdown to HBL PSL 12 has officially begun.
