Honda Launches Sales for Upgraded Odyssey Minivan in Japan

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has begun the sales of upgraded Odyssey minivan in Japan. This refreshed model boasts an upgraded design, increased comfort, and enhanced functionality. Excitingly, a new hybrid-electric variant, the e:HEV ABSOLUTE・EX BLACK EDITION, has been added to the lineup.

The revamped Odyssey is available in three variants: e:HEV ABSOLUTE, e:HEV ABSOLUTE・EX, and the all-new e:HEV ABSOLUTE・EX BLACK EDITION.

Building on the success of previous Odyssey models in Japan, these minivans maintain sedan-like driving stability and distinctive styling, thanks to the low-floor platform. The original design and spacious cabin have been further perfected with new features to cater to customer preferences.

Design Evolution:

The front grille receives a fresh design, accentuating a wider appearance with an enlarged grille opening. A combination of five horizontal plated bars and architectural details elevates the vehicle’s premium aesthetic.

Placing the Honda emblem at the forefront enhances the commanding presence of the front body, achieving a more powerful and substantial design.

The newly introduced e:HEV ABSOLUTE EX BLACK EDITION showcases a black chrome plated front grille, rear combination lights with black smoked lenses, matte Berlina Black 18-inch aluminum wheels, and black roof and pillar linings. Interior and exterior black decorative elements convey the sophistication of Honda’s top-tier model in Japan.

Enhanced Utility:

All variants now feature four-way power seats for the second row, allowing for more precise adjustments and increased comfort. Additional features include heated seats, a foldable center table, armrests with a mini table, and a USB charger (Type-C) at the foot of the seats, enhancing the overall comfort of second-row passengers.

The third-row seats, a hallmark of previous Odyssey models, fold effortlessly into the floor, providing ample cargo space and convenience for customers.

Innovative Technology:

A deceleration selector is introduced, allowing drivers to adjust the rate of deceleration when releasing the accelerator pedal. The electric gear selector, enabling smooth shifting with a single finger, is a first for the Odyssey.

Advanced Safety Features:

The refreshed Odyssey incorporates the Honda SENSING advanced safety and driver-assistive system, now with three new functions: Low Speed Brake Function, Auto High Beam Headlights, and Unintended Acceleration Mitigation.

The enhanced front camera widens the detection range for the Collision Mitigation Braking System, ensuring improved safety in various driving scenarios.
