Honor has officially launched the Honor 400 and 400 Pro smartphones in China, following their global debut in Paris last month.
While the global versions have already generated buzz, the Chinese variants bring notable hardware upgrades tailored for the local market.
Both the Honor 400 and 400 Pro feature 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. Interestingly, the Chinese Honor 400 Pro is slightly more compact than its global counterpart.
Under the hood, Honor has introduced significant chipset upgrades — the Honor 400 now runs on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, while the 400 Pro retains the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Both models support up to 16GB RAM and a massive 1TB of internal storage.
Camera configurations remain largely the same, with a 200MP main sensor (f/1.9, OIS) and a 12MP ultra-wide lens shared across both phones. The Pro version additionally includes a 50MP 3x telephoto camera. Notably, the Chinese Honor 400 adopts a more traditional rectangular camera island design.
One of the most striking upgrades in the Chinese versions is the battery capacity. Both the Honor 400 and Honor 400 Pro come with large 7,200mAh batteries — a significant increase of 1,900mAh over the global models. The Honor 400 Pro also supports faster 90W wired charging, enhancing daily usability for power users.
In terms of durability, the Chinese variants are IP68 and IP69 rated, providing better water and dust resistance compared to the global models, which feature only IP65/66 ratings.
Color options include Sea Breeze Blue, Moonlight Silver, Magic Night Black, and a new Quicksand Pink finish. Pricing for the Honor 400 starts at CNY 2,499 ($347), while the Honor 400 Pro begins at CNY 3,399 ($472). The top-tier 400 Pro with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage is priced at CNY 4,499 ($624).
Both models are available for pre-order on Honor’s official Chinese website, with deliveries beginning June 6.
With these enhancements, Honor is clearly targeting power users and tech enthusiasts in its domestic market. The combination of upgraded processors, increased battery capacity, and higher IP ratings suggests a focus on performance, durability, and long-term usage. As competition heats up in the mid-to-premium smartphone segment in China, these improved specifications give the Honor 400 series a strong edge against rival offerings from brands.
