Honor to unveil Robot Phone imaging technology on July 28

Honor and Arri will showcase a new cinematic imaging system as the company teases the full capabilities of its upcoming Robot Phone.

Honor has announced an Imaging Technology Launch Event for July 28, where it is expected to reveal the camera innovations powering its upcoming Robot Phone in partnership with German cinema camera manufacturer Arri.

The Chinese smartphone maker said the event will focus on a device that delivers a “full-stack cinematic workflow,” highlighting its ambitions to compete in professional-grade mobile videography.

Honor has increasingly teased the Robot Phone’s video capabilities ahead of its official debut. The device recently appeared during the 2026 FIFA World Cup final broadcast and was also showcased at the Shanghai International Film Festival, signalling the company’s growing focus on filmmaking and cinematic content creation.

Despite unveiling the Robot Phone concept several months ago, Honor has yet to disclose the handset’s complete specifications, leaving key details about its hardware, cameras and processing capabilities under wraps.

The upcoming launch event is expected to provide a closer look at the imaging technologies developed through Honor’s collaboration with Arri, a company renowned for supplying professional digital cinema cameras used in major Hollywood productions.

Honor has not confirmed whether the July 28 event will include the Robot Phone’s full commercial launch or focus solely on its imaging system.

Alongside the announcement, Honor also introduced a refreshed corporate identity featuring a redesigned split-ring logo and a new brand slogan, “Dare To Be.”

The company said the new visual identity reflects its evolving strategy and commitment to innovation as it expands its presence in the premium smartphone market.

With smartphone manufacturers increasingly competing on camera performance and AI-powered imaging, Honor’s partnership with Arri underscores the industry’s growing emphasis on delivering professional-quality video recording directly from mobile devices.
