Honor X80 Pro Max Tipped to Feature Record-Breaking 10,000-Nit Display

IT & Telecom

Honor’s upcoming X80 Pro Max smartphone could set a new benchmark for smartphone displays, with a fresh leak suggesting the device will feature a peak brightness rating of 10,000 nits.

The claim comes from Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, who shared details of the unreleased handset on social media platform Weibo ahead of its expected launch later this month.

If accurate, the Honor X80 Pro Max would surpass current smartphone brightness records and become one of the brightest displays ever advertised on a mobile device.

Honor X80 Pro Max May Set New Brightness Record

According to the leak, the smartphone’s display will be marketed with a peak brightness of 10,000 nits, a figure that significantly exceeds most flagship smartphones currently available.

Industry observers note that peak brightness ratings typically apply to a very small portion of the display under specific conditions, limiting their real-world usefulness. However, the reported figure would still represent a major milestone in display technology.

More importantly for everyday users, the leak claims the device will also offer exceptionally high full-screen brightness, which could improve outdoor visibility and readability under direct sunlight.

Massive Battery Also Expected

The Honor X80 Pro Max is also rumored to house an 11,000mAh battery, which would be the largest battery capacity ever offered by Honor in a smartphone.

Such a battery could deliver significantly longer usage times compared with conventional flagship devices, particularly for media consumption, gaming and productivity tasks.

Expected Specifications

Beyond the display and battery upgrades, the leak suggests the smartphone will feature a 6.8-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 2788 pixels.

The device is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor and may come equipped with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

Camera specifications are rumored to include a 50-megapixel rear sensor, while the phone is also said to offer enhanced resistance against dust, water and accidental drops.

In addition, the handset is expected to include what the leak describes as “flagship-level” biometric security features.

Honor has not officially confirmed the specifications or launch date of the X80 Pro Max. However, reports indicate the smartphone could be unveiled before the end of June, positioning it as one of the company’s most ambitious devices in the mid-range segment.

As with all pre-launch leaks, the reported specifications should be treated as unofficial until confirmed by Honor.
