Hot and Humid Weather Forecast for August 1, 2023 in Pakistan

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather forecast for August 1, 2023, predicting hot and humid conditions in most parts of the country.

The PMD also mentioned the possibility of rain-wind/thundershower at isolated places in northeast Punjab, Kashmir, and adjoining areas.

According to the PMD’s report, shallow monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea are penetrating the upper parts of Pakistan, contributing to the prevailing hot and humid weather. Additionally, a shallow westerly wave has been identified over the western parts of the country.

The weather conditions on Monday, July 31, 2023, were similarly hot and humid in most regions, with isolated areas experiencing rain, wind, and thundershowers. These areas included Kashmir, Islamabad, the Potohar region, south Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and northeast Balochistan.

In the past 24 hours leading up to the weather forecast, most parts of the country experienced hot and dry weather, although some regions did receive rainfall. The recorded rainfall amounts (in millimeters) were as follows: Punjab: Joharabad 52, Murree 09, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Kakul 17, Dir 05, Bacha Khan Airport 04, Kalam 03, Peshawar 02, Drosh 01, Balochistan: Zhob 04, and Kashmir: Garhi Dupatta 03.

The highest maximum temperatures recorded on the same day were as follows (in degrees Celsius): Nokkundi and Dalbandin at 43°C, Sibbi at 42°C, and Noor Pur Thal at 41°C.

The PMD advises citizens in the affected regions to take precautions to stay safe during the hot and humid weather conditions. People are encouraged to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and use cooling measures to protect themselves from the heat.

Residents in the regions where rain is expected should also be cautious of possible thunderstorms and heavy downpours. It is essential to monitor local weather updates and follow any safety guidelines issued by local authorities.
