Huawei’s latest foldable smartphone, the Mate X6, has officially entered global markets just weeks after its initial launch in China.
As the successor to last year’s China-exclusive Mate X5, the Mate X6 arrives with notable upgrades, including an enhanced camera system, larger battery, and refined design.
The Mate X6 boasts a sleek profile, measuring only 4.6mm when unfolded and 9.9mm when folded, while offering IPX8-rated water resistance. Huawei is releasing the device in three premium color options: Nebula Gray, Nebula Red, and Black.
Impressive Display Technology
The Mate X6 features two OLED displays with advanced LTPO technology. The 7.93-inch primary screen offers a resolution of 2,440 x 2,240 pixels and brightness up to 1,800 nits. Meanwhile, the 6.45-inch cover screen delivers a crisp FHD+ resolution with peak brightness reaching 2,500 nits. Both displays are protected by Huawei’s second-generation Kunlun Glass for superior durability.
Next-Level Camera System
Huawei’s Mate X6 is equipped with a versatile triple-camera setup. The primary 50MP sensor features an f/1.4–f/4.0 variable aperture for optimized performance in diverse lighting conditions. Complementing it is a 48MP periscope telephoto lens offering 4x optical zoom and a 5cm macro mode. Rounding off the setup is a 40MP ultrawide sensor with autofocus. Huawei also introduces its Ultra Chroma Camera technology, enabling accurate color reproduction through advanced spectral data capture.
Powerful Performance and Battery
Under the hood, the Mate X6 is rumored to feature the Kirin 9020 chipset, which delivers impressive performance through its 12-core CPU and Maleoon 920 GPU. However, Huawei has not officially confirmed these specifications.
Powering the device is a robust 5,110mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 66W wired, 50W wireless, and 7.5W reverse wireless charging. On the software front, the Mate X6 runs EMUI 15 for a smooth and optimized user experience.
Global Availability and Pricing
The Huawei Mate X6 will be available globally in a single 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant priced at €1,999. Deliveries are set to begin on January 6.
With its cutting-edge design and feature-rich specifications, the Huawei Mate X6 is poised to be a strong contender in the premium foldable smartphone market.
