Huawei has expanded its smartphone lineup with the launch of the nova Flip, a new foldable device targeting fashion-conscious consumers.
This marks the first foldable entry in the popular nova series, known for its stylish and youthful appeal.
The nova Flip boasts a compact design with a waterdrop hinge that has undergone rigorous testing, ensuring durability with a rating of 1.2 million folds. When unfolded, the device measures a slim 6.88mm and weighs a mere 195 grams, prioritizing portability and style.
A 2.14-inch OLED cover display complements the main device, serving as a viewfinder for the rear cameras and displaying essential information such as weather, music, and calendar. The main screen is a 6.94-inch LTPO OLED panel with FHD+ resolution and adaptive refresh rates of 1 to 120Hz for optimal performance and energy efficiency.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the device’s camera capabilities, featuring a 50MP main camera with a large 1/1.56-inch RYYB sensor and F/1.9 aperture for capturing detailed images. An 8MP ultrawide lens expands the photographic possibilities, while a 32MP front camera is ideal for selfies and video calls.
While Huawei has yet to officially confirm the chipset, previous leaks suggest the nova Flip is powered by the Kirin 8000 processor, a capable chip that delivers solid performance. The device runs on HarmonyOS 4.2, Huawei’s latest operating system, which introduces AI-powered features like subject removal, text extraction from images, and image generation.
To keep the device powered throughout the day, Huawei has equipped the nova Flip with a 4,400mAh battery and 66W wired fast charging.
The nova Flip is available in four trendy colors: New Green, Sakura Pink, Zero White, and Starry Black. Pricing starts at CNY 5,288 ($744) for the 256GB model, with options for 512GB and 1TB storage at CNY 5,688 ($798) and CNY 6,488 ($911) respectively. The device will be available for purchase in China starting August 10.
