The upcoming Hyundai Ioniq V has been spotted in near-production form in China, giving enthusiasts a closer look at Hyundai’s next-generation electric sedan.
Measuring nearly 4.9 metres in length, the sleek fastback EV blends futuristic styling, advanced digital tech, and a powerful 800V electrical platform aimed at high-performance charging and efficiency.
Sleek Fastback Design Turns Heads
The latest spy images confirm that the Ioniq V closely matches its earlier showcase at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show.
The electric sedan features a low-slung aerodynamic profile, frameless doors, semi-hidden door handles, and sharply sculpted body panels that enhance airflow efficiency.
At the rear, a full-width LED light bar adds a cyber-inspired identity, while a diffuser-style bumper reinforces its sporty character.
With dimensions of 4,900 mm length, 1,890 mm width, 1,470 mm height, and a 2,900 mm wheelbase, it firmly sits in the premium mid-size EV segment.
Would you prefer a more aggressive sedan design or a minimalist futuristic look like this?
High-Tech Cabin with Massive Digital Display
Inside, Hyundai is pushing strong into digital luxury. The cabin features a massive 27-inch 4K integrated dual-screen setup paired with a head-up display.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8295 chipset, the system manages infotainment, voice control, and vehicle functions with faster responsiveness.
The interior also includes ambient lighting across the dashboard and door trims, creating a modern “smart cockpit” feel.
For assisted driving, the model uses a Momenta-developed L2+ system offering highway navigation assist, urban NOA, and automated parking capabilities.
800V Powertrain and Fast Charging Focus
Under the skin, the Ioniq V supports both BEV and EREV configurations. Power outputs range from 140 kW (190 hp) to 168 kW (228 hp), depending on the variant.
Its standout feature is the 800V electrical architecture paired with CATL battery packs, enabling ultra-fast charging capability—though exact charging times are still under wraps.
What to Expect Next?
With production-spec prototypes now testing on roads, the big question is: will Hyundai position the Ioniq V as a global EV flagship or a China-focused premium model first?
