India’s Continued Dominance
India’s position at the top comes as no surprise, having won back-to-back ICC Men’s T20 World Cups in 2024 and 2026. The team has also remained unbeaten in T20I series between these two global tournaments, underlining its supremacy in the format.
The latest rankings take into account matches played since May 2025 at full weightage, while matches from the previous two years carry a 50% weighting.
Close Competition at the Top
England cricket team holds second place with 262 points, just 13 points behind India, while Australia national cricket team is close behind in third with 258 points.
The top seven rankings remain unchanged, with New Zealand national cricket team, South Africa national cricket team, Pakistan national cricket team, and West Indies cricket team maintaining their positions.
Movement in Lower Rankings
Bangladesh national cricket team moved up to eighth place with 225 points, while Sri Lanka national cricket team slipped to ninth after losing six rating points.
Afghanistan national cricket team remains close behind in 10th position with 220 points.
Further down, the United States national cricket team climbed to 13th place after gaining six points, overtaking the Netherlands national cricket team and Scotland national cricket team.
Emerging Teams and Changes
Among emerging teams, Italy national cricket team made a notable jump from 26th to 23rd place after gaining 11 points, highlighted by a 10-wicket win over Nepal in their T20 World Cup debut.
Meanwhile, the total number of teams in the rankings has decreased from 102 to 98, as Fiji, Gambia, Greece, and Israel were excluded due to not meeting the minimum requirement of eight T20Is over the past three years.
