The much-anticipated schedule for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 has been unveiled, with a thrilling match between India and Pakistan grabbing the spotlight. The highly awaited showdown will take place on October 15 at the renowned Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India.

This encounter marks their eighth meeting at a men’s World Cup, with their previous face-offs occurring in 1992, 1996, 1999, 2003, 2011, 2015, and 2019. Notably, the two teams did not meet in 2007, the only exception since their first encounter in 1992.

The Narendra Modi Stadium, boasting a seating capacity of 132,000, is expected to witness a packed house for this prestigious match. Additionally, this grand venue will host the tournament’s opening match on October 5 and the highly anticipated final on November 19.

Enthusiastic fans are eagerly anticipating the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which promises to deliver an exhilarating tournament, including the marquee clash between India and Pakistan.

The championship will kick off on October 5 with a riveting repeat of the 2019 final, featuring England against New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Hosts India will embark on their campaign on October 8, facing Australia in Chennai.

A total of 10 teams will compete in the World Cup, with the first eight already securing their spots through the Cricket World Cup Super League. The remaining two slots will be determined at the conclusion of the Qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe, set to end on July 9.

The participating teams will engage in a round-robin format, facing each other once. Subsequently, the top four teams will advance to the knockout stage, including the semi-finals.

Beyond the highly anticipated India-Pakistan clash and India’s encounter with Australia, the tournament features several other crucial matches.

Australia aims to reverse their fortunes after the Proteas’ victory in the last edition, facing South Africa on October 13 in Lucknow. Pakistan will lock horns with Australia in Bengaluru on October 20, while England and South Africa will collide on the following day in Mumbai.

India seeks redemption for their 2019 semi-final defeat against New Zealand, meeting them on October 22 at the Dharamsala venue. In a reminiscence of their clash four years ago when the defending champions overcame the Aussies to reach the final, Australia will confront their arch-rivals England on November 4 in Ahmedabad.

India will have an opportunity to avenge their loss in the semi-finals of the 2022 T20 World Cup against England on October 29 in Lucknow. The group stage concludes with an enticing match between England and Pakistan in Kolkata on November 12.

The first semi-final will be held on November 15 in Mumbai, followed by the second semi-final on the next day in Kolkata, with reserve days assigned to both matches. The Final is scheduled for November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, with November 20 designated as the reserve day. All three knockout fixtures will be day-night matches, commencing at 14:00 local time.

The Cricket World Cup will span across 10 venues, including Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kolkata. Warm-up matches will also be held in Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram, in addition to Hyderabad, from September 29 to October 3.
