Leaked pricing suggests Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max could become more expensive, while its first foldable iPhone may approach the $2,000 mark.
Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could arrive with higher price tags, while the company’s first foldable smartphone may be positioned as one of its most expensive iPhone models yet.
The pricing information remains unconfirmed, but a listing reportedly spotted on Vodafone Egypt has provided an early indication of what Apple’s next-generation devices could cost. The company is expected to unveil the new models at an event on September 9, with pre-orders reportedly beginning two days later.
Apple’s foldable iPhone could cost around $2,000
Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which has been tentatively referred to as the iPhone Ultra, was reportedly listed on Vodafone Egypt at EGP155,750 before the page was removed.
For comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at EGP94,400 in the Egyptian market. This suggests that the foldable could be roughly 65% more expensive than the current Pro Max.
Using that difference as a basis, the estimated price of the iPhone Ultra could reach around $1,980 in the US, £1,980 in the UK, €2,395 in Europe and ₹247,500 in India. However, these figures are only projections because taxes and regional pricing strategies vary significantly between markets.
Another leak from Australia reportedly puts the 256GB iPhone Ultra at AUD3,700, with 512GB and 1TB models costing AUD4,200 and AUD4,700, respectively. The figures once again point towards a US price close to the $2,000 mark.
That would put Apple’s foldable in the same general price territory as premium foldables such as Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold range.
iPhone 18 Pro models may also become more expensive
The same Vodafone Egypt leak reportedly lists the iPhone 18 Pro at EGP98,000 and the iPhone 18 Pro Max at EGP105,000.
For comparison, the 256GB iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are priced at EGP88,800 and EGP94,400, respectively. Based on those figures, the upcoming Pro models could see increases of around 10% to 11%.
Applying a roughly 10% increase to the previous generation’s international launch prices produces estimated starting prices of around $1,210 for the iPhone 18 Pro and $1,320 for the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
The potential increase may partly reflect higher production costs. Previous industry estimates have suggested that the bill of materials for the iPhone 18 Pro could be significantly higher than its predecessor.
Official prices remain unconfirmed
It is important to stress that these prices are based on leaks, regional listings and calculations, rather than official Apple announcements.
Apple is expected to reveal the final pricing alongside the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and its first foldable iPhone at its September event. Until then, the leaked figures should be treated as estimates rather than confirmed retail prices.
