Apple’s newly published EU Energy Labels reveal the battery capacities of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, including a significant increase for the larger model.
Apple has officially disclosed the battery capacities of its new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max through the EU Energy Labels required for smartphones sold in the European Union.
The documents show that the iPhone 18 Pro features a 4,056mAh battery, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max packs a 5,391mAh cell. Apple typically does not disclose battery capacities prominently, making the EU regulatory information a useful source for confirming the figures.
The iPhone 18 Pro’s rated battery capacity is around 1.45% larger than that of the previous-generation iPhone 17 Pro. Meanwhile, the iPhone 18 Pro Max has an 11.8% larger rated capacity than the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
However, direct comparisons should be treated cautiously because the EU figures represent rated capacity, while previous-generation figures commonly quoted for Apple devices use typical capacity measurements. The actual increase may therefore be somewhat greater.
There is another important distinction between European and other markets. Apple sells EU versions of the iPhone 18 Pro models with a physical SIM card slot, while versions sold in some other markets are eSIM-only. The additional internal space created by removing the physical SIM hardware allows those models to accommodate larger batteries.
The EU Energy Labels also reveal several other specifications. Both models receive an A rating for overall energy efficiency, a B rating for drop resistance and a C rating for repairability. They are also rated IP68 for dust and water resistance.
Apple states that the batteries can withstand at least 1,000 charging cycles before their capacity falls below 80% of the original level.
With its substantially larger battery, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is rated to deliver longer battery life on a single charge than the standard Pro model. The newly revealed figures provide a clearer picture of how Apple has increased battery capacity in its latest flagship generation.
