IR Iran secured their place in the knockout phase of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia 2023™ with a resounding 5-0 victory against New Caledonia in Group C action.
The Iranian team demonstrated their attacking prowess from the start, finally breaking the deadlock in the 17th minute when Mahan Sadeghi delivered a precise cross, allowing Amirmohammad Razaghinia to head home.
Razaghinia doubled his tally in the 34th minute, capitalizing on a loose ball in the area, although it came after Esmaeil Gholizadeh’s penalty struck the post.
Despite New Caledonia’s resilient defense in the second half, IR Iran managed to breach it in the 76th minute when Reza Ghandipour scored with a powerful header.
The fourth goal came in added time as Mohammad Askari unleashed a powerful shot, bringing New Caledonia’s tournament goals conceded to a record-breaking 23.
The fifth and final goal occurred just two minutes later when Kasra Taheri skillfully slotted the ball past Nicolas Kutran after breaking through on goal.
Player of the Match honors went to Amirmohammad Razaghinia, highlighting his impactful contributions to IR Iran’s commanding victory.
