Pakistan Super League

Karachi, April 24, 2026 – Three-time champions Islamabad United delivered a commanding performance on Friday, crushing Hyderabad Kingsmen by eight wickets in the 36th match of Pakistan Super League Season 11 at the National Bank Stadium.

With this dominant win, Islamabad United secured their fifth victory of the tournament and officially booked their place in the playoffs, joining table-toppers Peshawar Zalmi and former champions Multan Sultans.

Clinical Chase Seals Easy Win

Chasing a modest target of 81 runs, Islamabad United wrapped up the game in emphatic fashion, reaching the target in just 6.4 overs with only two wickets lost. The chase began on a shaky note as opener Devon Conway was dismissed for a duck on the second ball.

However, the setback was quickly neutralized by a strong partnership between Sameer Minhas and Mohsin Riaz. The duo added 79 runs for the second wicket, dismantling the opposition attack. Riaz was the standout performer with a blistering 42 off 18 balls, hitting six boundaries and two sixes.

Minhas remained unbeaten on 27 off 20 balls, while captain Shadab Khan finished the match in style, hitting a boundary off his first delivery to seal the victory.

Bowling Domination Crushes Kingsmen

Earlier, Islamabad United’s bowling unit produced a ruthless performance, bundling out Hyderabad Kingsmen for just 80 runs in 15.5 overs after being asked to field first.

Pacer Richard Gleeson struck early blows, removing Maaz Sadaqat for a duck and later dismissing Marnus Labuschagne and Saim Ayub to leave the Kingsmen reeling at 24/3.

The spin duo of Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim then took control, sharing six wickets between them and dismantling the middle and lower order. Hyderabad’s only resistance came from Usman Khan, who scored an unbeaten 25 off 35 balls.

Gleeson, Imad Wasim, and Shadab Khan finished with three wickets each, while Salman Mirza chipped in with one wicket.
