Karachi, April 20, 2025 – In a thrilling encounter of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, Islamabad United secured a dominant 6-wicket victory over Karachi Kings in the 10th match of the tournament, showcasing their strength and balance in both bowling and batting departments.
After winning the toss, Karachi Kings opted to bat first but failed to post a big total, managing only 128 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. The top contributors for Karachi were Tim Seifert with 30 runs, Abbas Afridi who remained unbeaten on 24, and Saad Baig who chipped in with 20 runs. Despite a cautious start, the Karachi batting lineup couldn’t break free against the disciplined bowling attack of Islamabad United.
The bowlers of Islamabad United put on an impressive show, with Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, and Jason Holder each picking up two wickets, putting constant pressure on the Kings throughout the innings. Their efforts ensured a modest target for the United batters to chase.
In response, Islamabad United displayed calm and calculated batting to comfortably reach the target with 17 balls to spare. Captain Shadab Khan led from the front, scoring a steady 47 off 40 balls and anchoring the innings. He was ably supported by Azam Khan, who added 31 runs, and Sahibzada Farhan, who contributed a solid 30.
On the bowling side for Karachi, Hasan Ali managed to take two wickets while Mohammad Nabi and Abbas Afridi bagged one wicket each. However, their efforts weren’t enough to stop a well-coordinated Islamabad United side that seemed in control from the outset.
This win marks another step forward in Islamabad United’s campaign as they continue to show promise and form in PSL 10. With this victory, Islamabad United has further cemented its position as a serious contender for the title this season.
