Islamabad weather: PMD forecasts dry conditions, morning mist on Saturday

The Pakistan Meteorological Department expects mainly dry weather across Islamabad on Friday and Saturday, with mist during early morning and night hours on Saturday.

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly dry weather in Islamabad and its surrounding areas on Friday and Saturday, with mist likely during the night and morning hours on Saturday.

According to the PMD’s National Weather Forecasting Centre, Islamabad, the forecast was issued at 10:30am Pakistan Standard Time (PST) on Friday, 16 October 2026.

The department said mainly dry conditions would prevail in the federal capital and adjoining areas on Friday. Similar weather is expected on Saturday, although mist could develop during the night and early morning, potentially reducing visibility in some locations.

The PMD attributed the prevailing weather pattern to a shallow trough of a westerly wave over the northern parts of the country.

Dry weather expected across most parts of Pakistan

The meteorological department forecast mainly dry weather across most parts of Pakistan on Friday, with partly cloudy conditions expected in northern areas.

Similar conditions are anticipated on Saturday, when most parts of the country are likely to experience dry weather. Northern areas may remain partly cloudy, with cold conditions during the morning and night.

The forecast indicates that the shallow westerly system is influencing northern parts of the country, although widespread rainfall is not expected under the prevailing outlook.
