Jessica Alba and daughter Honor mark Yale move with matching tattoos

The mother-daughter duo get matching eye-and-infinity tattoos as Honor prepares to begin university at Yale this autumn.

Jessica Alba and her 18-year-old daughter, Honor, have marked an emotional family milestone with matching tattoos ahead of Honor’s move to Yale University.

Honor shared a glimpse of the special moment on Instagram in July, posting a photograph of herself and her mother holding hands inside a car with the caption, “me x mama”.

The matching tattoos were created by renowned tattoo artist Daniel “Winterstone” Winter, whose previous clients include Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Matt Damon.

Mother and daughter choose matching designs

The tattoos feature an eye positioned above an infinity symbol, with Alba having hers placed on the outside of her forearm and Honor choosing the inside of her wrist.

Winter also shared a photograph from the tattoo session, describing the matching designs as a lasting expression of the mother-daughter bond.

The tattoos came shortly after Honor celebrated her 18th birthday in June.

Alba celebrates daughter’s 18th birthday

Alba marked Honor’s birthday with an emotional Instagram tribute, reflecting on the impact her eldest daughter has had on her life.

“Happy 18th Birthday to my Honor. My sweet girl, my brilliant girl, my shining light,” Alba wrote.

She described the previous 18 years as “the most profound” period of her life, adding that Honor had opened her heart and deepened her understanding of love.

The birthday milestone also comes as Honor prepares to leave home for university.

Honor follows father’s path to Yale

Honor’s father, Cash Warren, also celebrated his daughter’s achievement as she prepares to attend Yale, following an educational path that he previously took.

“You have no idea how special it is for me to watch you follow my path to Yale,” Warren wrote in a tribute to his daughter.

He said Honor had already created “a new legacy” for the family and expressed his excitement about seeing what she achieves in the future.

Honor is expected to move to New Haven, Connecticut, this autumn and plans to double major in English and Film Studies.

Alba admits university milestone feels intense

Speaking to PEOPLE in an interview published on August 19, Alba acknowledged that the reality of her eldest child leaving for university had not completely sunk in.

“It hasn’t really hit me personally, but I think for any parent, just that milestone, it’s intense,” Alba said. “I don’t think you can prepare for it. You just have to tackle it when it happens.”

The matching tattoos therefore provide a permanent reminder of their relationship as Honor begins a new chapter away from home.

Alba shares Honor, 15-year-old daughter Haven and eight-year-old son Hayes with Warren. The couple finalised their divorce in March 2026 after 16 years of marriage. Alba has since begun a relationship with actor Danny Ramirez.
