Kane Williamson, New Zealand’s white-ball captain and star batter, is on the cusp of making a remarkable return from a right-knee injury just in time for the eagerly-awaited ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in October-November.

A heartening video shared on Instagram shows Williamson confidently back in the nets, gracefully wielding his bat, signaling his imminent return to action.

The cricketing maestro had faced a major setback earlier this year when he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury while fielding for the Gujarat Titans during the Indian Premier League.

Undaunted by the challenge, Williamson underwent surgery and dedicatedly rehabilitated in his home country, New Zealand.

Williamson’s presence in the World Cup lineup could be a game-changer for the Blackcaps. During the 2019 World Cup, he emerged as the highest run-scorer for his side, accumulating an impressive 578 runs at an average of 82.57.

His outstanding performances, which included two centuries and two fifties, earned him the well-deserved title of Player of the Tournament.
