KARACHI, May 2, 2026– Karachi is set to experience scorching heat over the next few days, with temperatures expected to rise above 40 degrees Celsius, increasing the risk of heat-related illnesses.
Weather forecasts from AccuWeather indicate very hot and dry conditions, with prolonged sunny spells and strong ultraviolet radiation across the city.
Daytime temperatures are expected to hover between 39°C and 42°C from May 2 to May 5, with “feels-like” temperatures climbing as high as 43°C due to humidity and wind conditions.
Forecasters warned that heat levels will remain dangerous, particularly during afternoon hours, with a high risk of dehydration and heatstroke for those exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods.
Windy conditions are also expected during parts of the day, offering little relief as hot, dry air continues to dominate the weather pattern.
Air quality is likely to deteriorate further during the period, reaching unhealthy levels as haze combines with extreme heat, adding to health concerns for residents.
Authorities and health experts advise people to limit outdoor activity, stay hydrated and avoid direct sun exposure, especially during peak afternoon hours.
The heatwave conditions come as other parts of Pakistan brace for changing weather patterns, with thunderstorms forecast in northern regions, highlighting stark contrasts in weather across the country.
