Karachi rain unlikely but pleasant weather ahead

May 20, 2025 – Karachi: While many across the country await the arrival of pre-monsoon showers, Karachi is forecast to remain dry throughout the week.

According to AccuWeather, no rain is expected in the port city, but residents can look forward to sunny, breezy, and relatively pleasant weather conditions.

Despite the absence of rain, Karachi’s climate will be marked by clear skies and manageable humidity levels, providing some relief from the sweltering heat seen in other parts of Pakistan. The forecast for Tuesday, May 20, shows a high of 34°C and a low of 29°C, with a RealFeel® of 38°C. The RealFeel Shade™ will hover around 35°C, with winds blowing from the west-southwest at 22 km/h, keeping the atmosphere airy and less stifling. However, the UV Index remains at an extreme level of 12, urging caution for those spending time outdoors.

On Wednesday, May 21, temperatures are expected to climb slightly to a high of 36°C, with the RealFeel® touching 40°C. Despite these warmer figures, the breezy weather and absence of cloud cover will help maintain a level of comfort. Winds will continue to flow from the west-southwest at 22 km/h, ensuring ventilation across coastal neighborhoods. Again, there is no forecast of rain.

Thursday’s outlook, May 22, brings more of the same — mostly sunny skies transitioning to partly cloudy by evening, with temperatures steady at 36°C. The RealFeel® remains at 40°C, while the shade provides some respite at 37°C. Rain remains unlikely, as the dry spell continues into the week’s second half.

Friday, May 23, wraps up the week with similar weather patterns. Karachi will experience breezy conditions and strong sunshine with highs of 36°C. Winds will slightly slow down to 20 km/h but should still provide some cooling effect. As expected, there is still no sign of rain, keeping the city’s skies clear.

Although Karachi will miss out on any rain, the consistently breezy and sunny weather offers a welcome change from typical early summer heatwaves. Residents are advised to take precautions against sun exposure due to high UV levels and stay tuned to daily forecasts for any changes.
