Karachi is expected to experience hot and breezy weather conditions over the next four days, with temperatures likely to climb as high as 37 degrees Celsius, according to forecasts issued by AccuWeather.
The weather forecasting portal said Thursday, May 28, would remain very warm and breezy with long periods of sunshine. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 36°C, while the minimum may stay around 29°C. The RealFeel temperature could rise to 42°C due to humidity and heat intensity. Winds are expected from the west-southwest at 26 kilometres per hour.
On Friday, May 29, hazy conditions and warmer weather are likely to persist across the city. Temperatures are forecast to range between 36°C and 28°C, while the RealFeel temperature may touch 43°C. Westerly winds are expected at around 24 kilometres per hour.
According to the forecast, Saturday, May 30, may become the hottest day of the period, with the mercury expected to reach 37°C amid sunny and breezy conditions. Minimum temperatures are likely to remain near 29°C, while RealFeel temperatures may again approach 43°C.
On Sunday, May 31, Karachi is expected to witness very warm weather with intervals of sunshine and breezy afternoon conditions. The maximum temperature is likely to stay around 36°C, with the minimum forecast near 29°C.
AccuWeather also warned that ultraviolet (UV) levels would remain in the “very unhealthy” category throughout the week, with the UV index ranging between 12 and 13.
Health experts have advised residents to avoid unnecessary outdoor exposure during peak afternoon hours, remain hydrated and take precautionary measures against heat-related illnesses as warm pre-monsoon conditions continue in the city.
