Tensions within the Kardashian family resurfaced during the latest episode of The Kardashians, aired on Thursday, April 10th, as Kim and Khloe Kardashian opened up about emotional dreams involving their late father, Robert Kardashian Sr., and his wife Ellen Pierson.
The sisters subtly hinted at lingering strain between their family and Ellen, who married Robert shortly before his passing in 2003 due to esophageal cancer.
During a heartfelt conversation, Kim, 44, shared a dream where she saw their father alive and living in Los Angeles “with Ellen.” The mention of Ellen seemed to stir discomfort, as Kim explained her father was hiding from them in the dream. Khloe, 40, reacted with a blunt, “Ew,” a response that pointed toward unresolved tension with their stepmother.
Khloe also confessed to having frequent dreams about their father, stating, “I dream of him being alive all the time.” The moment turned slightly humorous when, during a confessional, Kim asked Khloe to retell the dream she had shared during their RV trip. When Khloe mentioned Ellen, a producer mistakenly thought she was referring to Ellen DeGeneres. Kim quickly clarified, “No, his wife,” and jokingly added, “That would’ve been the dream,” lightly implying the family’s ongoing issues with Pierson.
This is far from the first time the Kardashian sisters have alluded to friction with Ellen. Back in 2013, Ellen Pierson filed a defamation lawsuit against the Kardashian family, claiming they misrepresented her in the media. She accused both the family and reality TV producer Ryan Seacrest of trying to portray her negatively for drama on the show.
At the time, Ellen made harsh statements, calling Kris Jenner a “manipulative and devious mother and ex-wife” who allegedly exploited her children for fame and fortune—a claim that sparked significant backlash.
Despite their fame and unity on screen, the recent episode made it clear that some emotional wounds within the Kardashian family remain unhealed.
