Katie Holmes Embraces Private Life After Tom Cruise Divorce

Entertainment World

Katie Holmes reportedly chose a quieter and more private lifestyle in New York City following her highly publicized divorce from Tom Cruise.

According to Radar Online, Holmes deliberately distanced herself from Hollywood’s spotlight after ending her marriage to Cruise in 2012.

Katie Holmes sought privacy after divorce

An insider told the outlet that Holmes felt the move away from Hollywood was necessary to rebuild her life with daughter Suri Cruise.

“It was quite an adaptation for Katie to drop out of the spotlight like she did, but at the time it felt entirely necessary because she needed privacy and a brand-new start that was as pressure-free as possible,” the source said.

The insider added that living in Manhattan allowed Holmes to enjoy greater freedom and anonymity compared to Los Angeles.

“It was easier for her to move far away from Hollywood and enjoy a new life in Manhattan, where she could move around without being recognized or hassled,” the source claimed.

Actress reportedly remains low-profile

According to the report, Holmes has maintained a relatively low-profile lifestyle for years since the split.

“It’s stayed that way for some years now,” the insider said. “Katie is still living under the radar, and for the most part, it suits her perfectly.”

Holmes has largely avoided publicly discussing her marriage and divorce from Cruise.

However, Cruise previously acknowledged during a legal deposition that Scientology was one factor contributing to the separation.

Career shift after Hollywood spotlight

Sources also suggested Holmes’ quieter lifestyle may have impacted the scale of opportunities available in her acting career.

“The downside in this very modest lifestyle is that Katie doesn’t have the same career opportunities as she would have had,” the source reportedly said.

Despite that, Holmes is said to remain comfortable with her current lifestyle and creative direction.

Focus on theater and independent projects

In recent years, Holmes has focused more heavily on theater productions and independent filmmaking projects.

She recently worked on the Happy Hours trilogy, which she wrote, directed and starred in alongside former co-star Joshua Jackson.

The actress continues to balance creative work with a quieter life away from the intense media attention that once surrounded her Hollywood career and marriage to Cruise.
