Sky documentary reveals emotional family reflections as Katie Price discusses her search for love and the man who helped raise her.
Television personality Katie Price has opened up about her lifelong struggles with relationships in a forthcoming documentary, while her stepfather has shared his emotional regrets over whether his parenting choices may have influenced her personal life.
The candid revelations feature in the four-part Sky Original documentary Katie Price: Nothing to Hide, which offers an intimate look at the former glamour model’s life, family relationships and personal challenges.
In the documentary, Price admits she has “always been vulnerable and needy”, reflecting on the emotional difficulties that have shaped her relationships over the years.
The mother of five has been married four times and engaged nine times, with her high-profile romances frequently making headlines throughout her career.
One of the documentary’s most poignant moments comes from her stepfather, Paul Price, who married Katie’s mother, Amy Price, in 1988 when Katie was 10 years old.
Paul questions whether his careful approach to parenting as a stepfather may have unintentionally affected Katie’s outlook on love and relationships.
“She can never be on her own, she’s always got to have a man, and this is when I say to myself, ‘Have I done something wrong? Is it the way she’s been brought up?’” he says in the documentary.
He explains that he deliberately avoided trying to replace Katie’s biological father, Ray Infield, believing it was important to respect that relationship.
“I didn’t want her to feel she’s got to be here to cuddle me or I didn’t want to feel like I’m taking over,” Paul says, adding that he consciously avoided becoming a substitute father figure.
Ray Infield left the family home when Katie was four years old. Looking back, Paul acknowledges that his decision to remain cautious may have left an emotional void, although he insists he acted with the best intentions.
Despite her stepfather’s lingering doubts, Katie speaks warmly about the man who helped raise her, making it clear she never felt anything other than love and acceptance from him.
“Paul never made me feel like I am not his, never,” she says, expressing gratitude for his unwavering support throughout her childhood and adult life.
The documentary promises an unfiltered look at Katie Price’s personal journey, exploring her family dynamics, relationships and the challenges she has faced while living much of her life in the public eye.
Katie Price: Nothing to Hide is scheduled to premiere on Sky and its streaming platform on 8 July, offering viewers an emotional and revealing portrait of one of Britain’s most recognisable media personalities.
