The reality star says she is waiting to regain her driving licence but expects her history to make finding affordable car insurance difficult.
Katie Price has revealed that her latest driving ban, reportedly her seventh, is nearing its end as she prepares to regain her licence.
The former model has lost her driving licence several times since 2010 over offences including speeding, driving while disqualified and a drink-driving crash in which she admitted taking drugs. One previous case resulted in a suspended prison sentence in 2021.
Her latest six-month disqualification followed her failure to respond to police correspondence concerning a speeding offence.
Katie Price prepares to get licence back
Speaking on her podcast, The Katie Price Show, Price said it would “not be long” before she was legally allowed to drive again.
She said the DVLA had sent her an application form and that she already knew when she should receive her licence back.
“I know the date I should be getting it back and I’m looking in the post as if it’s Christmas Eve!” she said.
Price also acknowledged that getting car insurance could prove difficult because of her extensive driving history.
Price jokes about driving any car
Despite her reputation for owning expensive cars, Price said she would be prepared to drive almost anything if it meant regaining her independence.
The reality star joked that she would even consider a basic Fiat 500 or a moped, saying her priority was simply being able to travel independently.
“I don’t care what car I have. You know I’m a petrolhead, you know I love my flash cars, but again, I know that I just have to have what I can have and that’s it because no one will insure me,” Price said.
She added that she simply wanted to be able to travel for everyday activities, including shopping and visiting her mother.
Latest update follows marriage split
Price’s driving licence update comes shortly after she confirmed the end of her marriage to Lee Andrews during an appearance on Good Morning Britain.
She said the relationship had broken down after she discovered what she described as financial inconsistencies. Price also said she felt manipulated, while clarifying that Andrews had never directly taken money from her.
Andrews, who is currently in custody in Dubai, later shared a voice note saying he believed divorce was ultimately for the best. He denied wrongdoing and said he continued to have feelings for Price.
Return to driving could restore independence
For Price, regaining her driving licence would represent a return to greater independence in her day-to-day life.
However, her previous driving convictions could make obtaining affordable insurance a significant challenge once she is legally permitted to drive again.
