Kelly Osbourne recalls trying cocaine for the first time at Los Angeles’ Sunset Marquis after it was allegedly given to her by one of her late father Ozzy Osbourne’s friends.
Kelly Osbourne has revealed that one of her late father Ozzy Osbourne’s friends introduced her to cocaine at the famous Sunset Marquis hotel in Los Angeles.
The 41-year-old television personality made the revelation in the new documentary If These Walls Could Rock, which explores the history of the iconic West Hollywood hotel and its long-standing links to the music industry.
Kelly recalled that she first tried cocaine at the hotel after it was given to her by a member of a “very, very, very big band”, who was also a friend of her father.
“I did my first line of cocaine in this hotel,” Kelly said in the documentary.
She explained that she kept the incident secret for years because she feared how her parents would react if they discovered what had happened.
“I could never tell my parents because they would f***ing kill him!” Kelly joked.

Kelly also reflected on growing up around the Sunset Marquis and described it as one of the few hotels where her father could relax and behave freely.
“It was the only hotel that my dad could stay in, at the time, where my dad could be himself,” she said.
According to Kelly, the family was frequently asked to leave other establishments, while the Sunset Marquis continued to welcome Ozzy.
“We’d be kicked out of everywhere, but not the Sunset Marquis,” she recalled, adding that her father could “misbehave politely” at the hotel.

Kelly’s mother, Sharon Osbourne, also reflected on Ozzy’s close relationship with the property.
Sharon said the Black Sabbath frontman particularly enjoyed being able to walk around the hotel’s gardens and treat the venue almost like his own home.
“He would love it here because he could wander,” Sharon recalled. “It was like you were in your own home with a lot of friends.”
The memories offer a glimpse into the Osbourne family’s long association with the Sunset Marquis and the rock music community that surrounded the venue.
Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary Black Sabbath frontman, died in July 2025 at the age of 76.
