Financial analysts said that KIBOR rates are widely used by banks and financial institutions as benchmark lending rates for corporate and consumer financing in Pakistan. Any movement in these rates directly impacts borrowing costs for businesses and individuals, particularly for loans linked with floating interest rates. Market participants observed that the slight increase in longer-tenor rates reflected expectations of tightening liquidity conditions and possible adjustments in the monetary policy stance of the State Bank of Pakistan in the coming months.

Experts noted that the demand for credit from the private sector has gradually improved with the recovery in economic activity after the slowdown caused by the pandemic. They said that stable banking sector liquidity and improved confidence in the financial market were helping maintain orderly conditions in the money market. Investors and treasury managers are closely monitoring KIBOR trends as an important indicator of future interest rate direction and overall market sentiment.
