The reality star reveals how an “annoying” comment initially angered her before Lawrence reached out with an apology and softened the tension.
Kourtney Kardashian has revealed that she was so upset by Jennifer Lawrence’s “annoying” remark about her that she wanted to slap the Hollywood actress, although she later changed her mind after revisiting the comments.
In the Season 8 premiere of The Kardashians, released on Thursday on Hulu, the 47-year-old reality star discussed the incident with her friend Simon Huck.
Kourtney recalled telling her mother, Kris Jenner, that if Lawrence considered herself one of the Kardashian sisters, she should be prepared to be treated like one. She even suggested inviting the actress over.
Lawrence, 36, later contacted Kourtney through Kim Kardashian, who shared her sister’s email address with the actress. In her message, Lawrence apologised and explained, “I just feel like I’m one of your sisters.”
Kourtney described the email as “nice”, although she admitted that she had not yet replied.
The reality star also acknowledged that watching the original clip again changed her perspective. She said the remark was “not that bad” and explained that it had come during a particularly sensitive week when the show was airing and she felt everyone was “ganging up” on her.
Rather than escalating the dispute, Kourtney considered responding with humour. She came up with the line: “Next time you wanna come over, we can go at it, Kourtney and Kim style.”
The joke referenced the sisters’ infamous physical altercation in Season 18 of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
What Jennifer Lawrence said about Kourtney Kardashian
The controversy began during a Vanity Fair lie-detector test in November 2025, when Lawrence described Kourtney as “more annoying than ever” and said she drove her limits.
The Hunger Games star complained that Kourtney seemed to make announcements about everything, citing her comments about no longer wearing certain outfits and not having a television in her bedroom.
Lawrence later reflected on her tendency to make candid remarks during interviews. Speaking on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast in January, she said she should do “half” as much as other people during press appearances, acknowledging that some of her quotes could look confusing.
Despite the initial tension, Kourtney’s account suggests that Lawrence’s personal apology helped put the exchange into perspective, with the reality star considering a playful response rather than continuing the feud.
