The reality television star wore the historic black velvet cape at the Rome Film Festival, revealing its connection to her daughter Kim Kardashian’s series All’s Fair.

Kris Jenner turned heads at the Rome Film Festival on Saturday, 24 October, wearing a historic scorpion-embroidered cape once owned by Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor.

The 70-year-old reality television star attended the screening of the second-season premiere of All’s Fair alongside her daughter Kim Kardashian at the festival’s 21st edition.

Kardashian revealed the cape’s remarkable history on Instagram Stories, sharing a photograph of herself with her mother at the event.

“It belonged to Elizabeth Taylor, and my mom now owns it and graciously let me wear it in All’s Fair,” Kardashian wrote.

The black velvet, hooded cape was created by Tiziani Roma and features an ivory silk lining, with two silver scorpions embroidered across the chest.

Taylor famously wore the garment to actress Grace Kelly’s 40th birthday party in 1969. The Scorpio-themed celebration welcomed around 60 guests, and Taylor complemented the cape with the Taylor-Burton diamond necklace, weighing an impressive 69.42 carats.

According to Vogue, Karl Lagerfeld was freelancing for Tiziani Roma around that time, while Christie’s suggested the cape could have been one of his designs. The garment was sold at Christie’s auction house in 2011 for $74,500.

Jenner styled the vintage piece over a floor-length white gown, completing the ensemble with long white gloves.

Meanwhile, Kardashian wore an archival Yves Saint Laurent leopard-print corset gown with a matching shawl.

Reacting to her daughter’s event recap, Jenner commented: “What a whirlwind you looked STUNNING. I love you!”

The appearance highlighted the family’s shared interest in archival fashion and iconic Hollywood memorabilia.
