KSE-100 Index Gains 664 Points as PSX Recovers

Pakistan’s benchmark index rebounds 0.41% to close at 163,038 points, supported by gains in UBL, ENGROH, LUCK, OGDC and MARI.

Karachi, October 26, 2026: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) staged a recovery on Monday, 26 October 2026, as the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained 664 points, or 0.41%, to close at 163,038 points.

The index traded between an intraday low of 161,250 points and a high of 163,477 points, reflecting continued volatility and cautious investor sentiment.

The recovery offered some relief following five consecutive weeks of declines. However, market participants remained watchful of domestic economic developments, geopolitical tensions, elevated international oil prices and expectations surrounding the State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) upcoming monetary policy decision.

Investors continued to assess the potential impact of these factors on inflation, interest rates and Pakistan’s broader economic outlook.

On the positive side, United Bank Limited (UBL), Engro Holdings (ENGROH), Lucky Cement (LUCK), Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDC) and Mari Energies (MARI) were the leading contributors to the benchmark index. Collectively, these stocks added approximately 718 points.

Conversely, MCB Islamic Bank (MEBL), Engro Fertilisers (EFERT) and Fauji Fertiliser Company (FFC) were among the major laggards, collectively dragging the index down by approximately 317 points.

Trading activity remained substantial, with total market volume reaching around 376 million shares. The value of shares traded stood at approximately Rs16.2 billion.

Despite Monday’s rebound, investors are likely to remain sensitive to geopolitical developments, international oil price movements and signals from the SBP regarding the future direction of monetary policy.

The sustainability of the recovery will depend on market confidence and developments affecting the domestic economic outlook.
