Indus Motor Company (IMC) had raised the prices of Toyota Corolla trims following the imposition of a 25 per cent sales tax and devaluation of the Pakistani Rupee (PKR) against the US Dollar.
The increase in production costs for IMC, caused by the uncertain economic situation and fluctuating exchange rates in the country, has led to a rise in retail prices and the passing on of the burden to the market.
The Indus Motor Company (IMC) launched the Toyota Corolla in Pakistan back in July 2014, where it is manufactured locally.
The car is available in eight different colors including Attitude Black, Dorado Gold, Graphite Grey, Silver Metallic, Phantom Brown, Super White, Strong Blue, and Dark Teal Mica.
There are six variants available for the Toyota Corolla, namely the Toyota Corolla MT 1.6, Toyota Corolla ALTIS CVT 1.6, Toyota Corolla ALTIS CVT 1.6 Special Edition, Toyota Corolla ALTIS CVT-i 1.8, Toyota Corolla ALTIS GRANDE CVT-i 1.8 (Beige interior) and Toyota Corolla ALTIS GRANDE CVT-i 1.8 (Black interior).

Engine of Toyota Corolla:
The 1.6-liter variants of the Toyota Corolla are equipped with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder VVTI engine, which produces 120 horsepower at 6000 rpm and a torque of 154 Nm at 5200 rpm via a 7-speed CVT transmission and 6-speed manual transmission.
The 1.8-liter variants are powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder VVTI engine, which generates 138 horsepower at 6100 rpm and 173 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm through a 7-speed CVT transmission.
In terms of fuel efficiency, the Toyota Corolla has a mileage of 12km/l in the city and 14km/l on highways. It has a fuel tank capacity of 55 liters.
