LG’s Content Platform Transforms Experience in New Kia EV3

LG has announced the integration of its advanced Automotive Content Platform (ACP), powered by webOS, into Kia’s latest all-electric SUV, the Kia EV3.

This marks the first deployment of LG’s innovative ACP in an electric vehicle, following its initial debut in South Korea last year with Hyundai Motor Group’s Genesis GV80 and GV80 Coupe.

The webOS-based ACP transforms the car cabin into a “living space on wheels,” reflecting LG’s vision for the future of mobility. As part of LG AlphaWare, the company’s suite of software solutions for software-defined vehicles (SDVs), the ACP offers a comprehensive range of content similar to what has made LG Smart TVs popular globally. Optimized for in-car environments, this platform enables passengers toenjoy an immersive home entertainment experience on the go.

Kia EV3 owners and passengers can access apps from a wide range of premium content providers, including Netflix, YouTube, Baby Shark World for Kids, Stingray Karaoke, Play.Works, and LG Channels. This collaboration between LG and Kia allows easy access to high-quality content directly from the car’s built-in screens, making commutes and road trips more entertaining and enriching.

The webOS-based ACP is continuously updated, ensuring seamless integration with popular applications like Baby Shark World for Kids. This mobile education app, available from the LG Content Store on the ACP, features over 9,000 songs and stories designed to educate and entertain young learners.

LG’s ACP also includes LG Channels, an exclusive, free streaming service tailored for in-vehicle use. It offers over 80 channels, real-time news updates, and more than 400 VOD content options, including movies, dramas, and animated series for children, all accessible without complex sign-ups.

Ryu Chang-sung, senior vice president and head of the Global Brand & CX division at Kia, stated, “Featuring numerous user-centric innovations including LG’s ACP powered by webOS, the EV3 enables our customers to enjoy a compelling in-vehicle experience with many of their favorite premium streaming services.”

Eun Seok-hyun, president of LG Vehicle component Solutions Company, added, “Our in-vehicle content platform elevates the mobility experience, providing easy access to a diverse array of high-quality content. We will continue to collaborate with leading global content providers to further enrich LG’s ACP, meeting the demands of both automakers and end users.”
