Lahore, February 1, 2025 – The match officials for the upcoming One-Day International (ODI) Tri-Nation Series, hosted by Pakistan, have been officially announced.

The highly anticipated tournament will feature three top cricketing nations: hosts Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa. The series is set to take place from February 8 to 14, 2025, in Lahore and Karachi.

David Boon, a prominent figure in the world of cricket and a member of the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, will lead the playing control team. Boon brings a wealth of experience to the series and will oversee the smooth running of the matches, ensuring fair play and adherence to the rules.

The tri-series will see the upgraded Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and the National Bank Stadium in Karachi hosting the matches. These iconic venues are set to welcome back international cricket after their renovation, adding to the excitement surrounding the event. The first match of the series will take place on February 8 at Gaddafi Stadium, where Pakistan will face New Zealand. The umpires for this crucial opening game will be England’s Michael Gough, a member of the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires, and Pakistan’s Faisal Khan Aafreedi, who is part of the ICC International Panel of Umpires. Richard Illingworth, another member of the ICC Elite Panel, will serve as the third umpire, while Rashid Riaz, an ICC International Panel umpire, will be the fourth umpire.

Following the opener, Gaddafi Stadium will also host the match between New Zealand and South Africa on February 10. For this match, Richard Illingworth and Rashid Riaz will be the on-field umpires, while Michael Gough will act as the third umpire. Asif Yaqoob, a member of the ICC International Panel of Umpires, will be the fourth umpire for the day game.

The action will then shift to Karachi for the final league match and the series finale at the National Bank Stadium. In the fixture between Pakistan and South Africa, the on-field umpires will be Asif Yaqoob and Michael Gough, while Richard Illingworth and Faisal Khan Aafreedi will serve as the third and fourth umpires, respectively.

The final match of the tri-nation series, set to take place on February 14, will be officiated by ICC Elite Panel umpire Ahsan Raza as one of the on-field umpires, alongside Richard Illingworth. Michael Gough will act as the third umpire, while Asif Yaqoob will perform the duties of the fourth umpire, ensuring the culmination of a thrilling series.
