Microsoft has launched its latest Surface devices, introducing a new Surface Pro and Surface Laptop lineup powered by Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon X2 processors, marking a significant refresh of its portable computing portfolio.
The new devices aim to strengthen Microsoft’s position in the premium Windows hardware market, combining enhanced performance, improved battery efficiency and updated design options.
Surface Pro Gets OLED Option and 120Hz Display
The new Surface Pro features a 13-inch touchscreen display and is available in Platinum, Black and Dune colour options. Microsoft says the device continues its focus on hybrid productivity, blending tablet portability with full laptop functionality.
Pricing for the Surface Pro starts at $1,499, with configurations featuring either a 10-core Snapdragon X2 Plus or a 12-core Snapdragon X2 Elite processor.
The display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and includes an optional OLED upgrade for improved contrast and colour accuracy.
Memory options range from 16GB to 64GB of RAM, while storage configurations span 256GB to 1TB. Microsoft claims the device can deliver up to 15.5 hours of local video playback on a single charge.
A fully configured top-tier model is priced at $3,549.
Surface Laptop Expands to Two Sizes
Alongside the Surface Pro, Microsoft also introduced a refreshed Surface Laptop available in 13.8-inch and 15-inch variants.
Pricing starts at $1,599 for the smaller model and $1,699 for the larger version.
Both models are powered by the same Snapdragon X2 processor options and support similar memory configurations as the Surface Pro. Storage begins at 256GB on the 13.8-inch model and 512GB on the 15-inch variant, with both scaling up to 1TB.
The 13.8-inch model is available in Platinum, Black, Dune and an exclusive Jade colourway.
Microsoft claims battery life of up to 20 hours on the 13.8-inch model and up to 19 hours on the 15-inch version, depending on usage.
Performance and Connectivity Focus
The new Surface lineup includes Wi-Fi 7 support and upgraded efficiency across both devices. Charging solutions also vary by model, with the smaller laptop shipping with a 39W power supply and the larger version using a 65W charger.
Microsoft says the new devices are designed to deliver improved performance for productivity workloads, creative applications and AI-enhanced features across Windows 11.
