Multan, February 20, 2024 – The Multan Sultans emerged victorious in a nail-biting encounter against Islamabad United, clinching a five-wicket win with just one ball to spare in the fifth match of the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Islamabad United faced a formidable Multan Sultans bowling attack. However, they managed to put up a total of 144 runs in their allotted 20 overs, losing all their wickets. Salman Ali Agha showcased an impressive batting performance, contributing 52 runs in 43 balls, while Jordan Cox added 41 runs in just 28 balls.
The Multan Sultans’ bowling unit wreaked havoc on Islamabad United’s batting lineup, with Mohammad Ali leading the charge by claiming three crucial wickets for 19 runs in his four overs. Abbas Afridi also made a significant impact, taking three wickets for 33 runs in his four-over spell. Usama Mir chipped in with two wickets for 29 runs in his quota of four overs.

Naseem Shah emerged as the star bowler for Islamabad United, taking two important wickets for 27 runs in his four overs. Imad Wasim provided support with a wicket, conceding 22 runs in his allotted four overs.
