Natalie Portman has given fans a rare look into her luxury travels after sharing moments from her journey on the iconic Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.
The 44-year-old Oscar-winning actress posted photos and videos on May 11 documenting her stay in the exclusive L’Observatoire cabin, describing the experience as feeling like she had “stepped back in time.”

The Belmond-owned suite spans an entire carriage and offers high-end features including a private cabin steward, in-suite dining, and a spacious bathroom with a soaking tub and stained-glass window.
Portman, dressed in an elegant all-black outfit, called the experience “unforgettable” while showcasing parts of the lavish interior.
She shared footage of a library space that doubles as an extra bedroom, along with scenic views of the train passing through a turquoise coastal landscape.
Relaxation and onboard experiences
During the journey, Portman enjoyed a relaxed onboard experience, including playing Scrabble and attending live music performances in the train’s dining cars.
The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is known for its historic luxury routes across Europe, including journeys between London and Venice.
Although she did not confirm her exact destination, the actress is believed to have boarded the train closer to her residence in Paris.
Life in Paris and personal changes
Natalie Portman has lived in Paris since 2014, where she moved with her children Aleph, 13, and Amalia, 9.
She finalized her divorce from choreographer Benjamin Millepied in February 2024 but has chosen to remain in the French capital for her children’s education and personal commitments.
