New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has announced a thrilling summer schedule filled with international matchups, featuring tours from England, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan.
This exciting calendar also includes the previously announced ICC World Test Championship series against England later this year.
A White-Ball Extravaganza for the Black Caps
The Black Caps’ summer campaign kicks off with a highly anticipated three-match Test series against England, starting in Christchurch on November 28th.
The focus then shifts to the white-ball format, with a T20I series against Sri Lanka slated for December, followed by another T20I series against Pakistan in March.
Interspersed between these series will be a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka in January. This comprehensive schedule builds upon their confirmed participation in a tri-series featuring South Africa and Pakistan in February, leading into the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan.
White Ferns Set for a Busy Summer
The White Ferns, New Zealand’s dynamic women’s team, will also have a summer brimming with competition. Their journey begins with a three-match ODI series against arch-rivals Australia in Australia during September, followed by the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh in October.
Upon returning home, they’ll reignite their rivalry with Australia in December for ODIs and in March for T20Is. To further elevate the excitement, Sri Lanka will embark on a six-match tour of New Zealand in March.
Double the Thrill with Doubleheaders
A unique aspect of this summer’s schedule is the incorporation of doubleheaders at select venues. These doubleheaders will strategically pair a White Ferns match with a Black Caps white-ball clash, offering fans the opportunity to witness both national teams showcase their prowess on the same day.
This comprehensive schedule promises an unforgettable summer of cricket in New Zealand, with a multitude of high-profile matches guaranteed to enthrall fans across the nation.
The action-packed series against England, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan will provide cricket enthusiasts with a plethora of opportunities to enjoy top-tier cricket.
The inclusion of doubleheaders adds a unique element, ensuring that fans get double the excitement and a full day of cricketing action.
With both the Black Caps and the White Ferns set for a season filled with competitive matches, New Zealand is poised to be at the heart of international cricket this summer.
