Nina Dobrev and Shaun White are officially engaged, but despite their excitement, the couple is in no rush to set a wedding date.
Even after five months since the engagement, Dobrev and White are fully embracing this special phase of their relationship without feeling pressured to walk down the aisle.
The beloved Vampire Diaries actress and the Olympic snowboarder got engaged in October. However, as Dobrev recently revealed, wedding planning is currently not a priority.
“It’s so fun to say fiancé,” Dobrev shared in a recent interview with E! News. The 36-year-old actress explained that both she and White have had hectic schedules, leaving little time to dive into wedding preparations.
“I was in Australia shooting a movie, and then came Christmas and New Year’s,” she said. “Right now, we’re just enjoying being engaged.”
Dobrev emphasized that she’s in no rush to move forward just yet.
“You have a boyfriend for a big part of your life and a husband for another, but the fiancé period is short,” she remarked. “I want to fully enjoy it without rushing into the next step.”
Though the couple is taking their time, Dobrev is already brainstorming ways to make their wedding an eco-conscious event.
“My number one goal is to figure out how to make it as low-impact as possible,” she shared. The Perks of Being a Wallflower actress has even partnered with SC Johnson to promote World Recycling Day, reflecting her commitment to sustainability.
White made the engagement unforgettable by proposing in a grand style at New York City’s Golden Swan restaurant. The proposal featured an elaborate floral arch, a romantic setting, and a dazzling 5-carat diamond ring. The surprise even included a fake dinner invitation from Anna Wintour, adding an extra layer of excitement.
The Olympic champion later took to Instagram to share his joy.
“Still floating after this night! I’m beyond lucky to have this incredible woman in my life and to be welcomed into her beautiful family!” White wrote.
“Our quarantine romance blossomed into something extraordinary, and now it’s forever.”
For now, Dobrev and White are relishing this exciting chapter in their love story, savoring every moment before saying “I do.”
