Nothing has officially ended software support for its first smartphone, the Phone (1), releasing its final update nearly four years after the device made its debut.
The London-based smartphone maker confirmed that the Nothing Phone (1) has reached the end of its software support lifecycle and will no longer receive Android version upgrades or future security updates.
The final software release is now rolling out to users and is expected to be available globally over the coming days.
The update includes the July 2026 Android security patch, along with bug fixes, performance enhancements and improvements to overall system stability.
Nothing said the Phone (1) will continue to function normally despite the end of software support, assuring users that the device remains fully usable.
The Phone (1), launched in July 2022 with Android 12, was promised three major Android OS upgrades and four years of security updates. With the latest release, the company has fulfilled that commitment.
The device helped establish Nothing in the competitive smartphone market with its transparent design, Glyph Interface and clean Android experience.
While existing users can continue using the Phone (1), the absence of future security patches means the handset will no longer receive protection against newly discovered vulnerabilities.
Nothing now recommends users looking for continued software support to consider upgrading to newer devices in its lineup, including the Phone (3) and Phone (4a) Pro.
The company has not announced any plans to extend support for the Phone (1) beyond the final update.
