Nothing Phone (3a) to Feature 50MP Telephoto Camera

Nothing is gearing up to launch its first true flagship smartphone, the Nothing Phone (3), alongside two mid-range models, the Nothing Phone (3a) and (3a) Plus.

While it remains unclear which devices will be unveiled at the March 4 event, new leaks provide insight into the features of the Nothing Phone (3a).

Nothing Phone (3a): Snapdragon Power and Glyph Interface

The Nothing Phone (3a) is expected to run on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, a notable shift from the Dimensity 7200 Pro used in its predecessor, the Phone (2a).

According to leakster Gadget Bits, Nothing device (model number A059) will debut with Nothing OS 3.1, based on Android 15. Additionally, it will retain the brand’s signature Glyph lighting system.

Upgraded Display and Camera SetupThe Nothing Phone (3a) will sport a 6.8-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1080p+ resolution. A punch-hole cutout will house a 32MP front-facing camera, similar to previous models.

On the back, Nothing is introducing its first telephoto lens—a 50MP sensor with 2x optical zoom. However, this upgrade comes at the cost of a reduced ultra-wide camera, which drops to 8MP from the 50MP seen in previous models. The primary camera will also feature a 50MP sensor, though additional details remain undisclosed.

Battery and Charging Details

The Nothing Phone (3a) is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging, mirroring the capabilities of the Nothing Phone (2a).

A Bigger Camera Leap for the Series?

The Nothing Phone (3a) Plus could take the camera game further with a rumored periscope zoom lens, offering a longer focal length than the 2x zoom on the standard (3a). Meanwhile, the flagship Nothing Phone (3) is expected to feature the most advanced telephoto camera of the trio, though its details remain under wraps.

With the official unveiling set for March 4, Nothing’s CEO Carl Pei is likely to drop multiple teasers in the coming weeks, keeping fans excited for the upcoming releases.
