OGDCL Commences Oil and Gas Production from Wali (Bettani) Field in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Karachi, June 15, 2023 – The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced the successful commencement of oil and gas production from the Wali (Bettani) Field in District Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.

With the installation of an early production facility, OGDCL aims to expedite the monetization of hydrocarbons in the region.

In communications sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) and London Stock Exchange, OGDCL confirmed the operational readiness of the Wali (Bettani) Gas Field. The anticipated daily production rates from the field are 10 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCF/Day) of gas and 1000 barrels per day (BBLS/day) of oil.

Within the next 24 hours, OGDCL plans to seamlessly integrate the Wali (Bettani) Gas Field into the national grid, ensuring a steady supply of gas. This significant achievement is a testament to the dedicated and hardworking multidisciplinary teams at OGDCL.

Looking ahead, OGDCL has outlined its plans to drill two additional wells in the area. The Wali Deep #1 and Wali #02 wells are expected to further enhance gas production, with an anticipated increase to approximately 50 MMSCF/day.
