Karachi, December 12, 2023 – The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) made a significant announcement on Tuesday, revealing the successful revival of production at the Kunnar Pasakhi Deep (KPD) Field.
In a disclosure to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), OGDCL detailed the accomplishment as part of its ongoing production optimization initiative.
As a strategic measure to enhance production, OGDCL has executed the successful re-injection of gas from six low-pressure wells at the Kunnar Pasakhi Deep (KPD) Field. This accomplishment was made possible through an in-house arrangement involving compression and operational modifications. The outcome has been a notable increase of 16 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas, along with 150 barrels per day (BPD) of condensate and 18 metric tons per day (MTD) of LPG from the field.
According to OGDCL, the newly injected gas is seamlessly integrated into the M/s Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) network, becoming operational from December 11, 2023. This move is expected to contribute significantly to the country’s overall gas supply, aligning with OGDCL’s commitment to national energy security.
The KPD Field is situated in the Sindh province, approximately 25 kilometers from Hyderabad. Presently, the field is producing 1600 BPD of condensate, 107 MMSCFD of sale gas, and 195 MTD of LPG. The operations at the KPD Field involve two trains of Amine Sweetening and Glycol Dehydration units, LPG extraction, and associated utilities.
